This guide will walk you through how to calibrate the automatic shifting interface - the AUTOMATiQ - using the CLiQ controller.
When to conduct a calibration
Calibrating the automatic shifting interface is always needed after one of the following:
- After the initial assembly of the e-bike.
- When the automatic shifting hub interface (e.g. AUTOMATiQ) was removed for maintenance reasons.
- When the system does not work properly.
Calibration options
These are the many ways you can calibrate an AUTOMATiQ hub interface:
With a smartphone or tablet
With a CLiQ controller
With the bike's integrated system

- How to calibrate the AUTOMATiQ using the Bafang integrated display
- How to calibrate the AUTOMATiQ using the FIT integrated display

Step-by-step instructions
There are 3 different CLiQ controllers. Follow the instructions for your model:
A - CLiQ Pro
Tools
- A bicycle with a CLiQ Pro already assembled and paired.
Calibration instructions
- Turn the system power on.
- Select “no motor assist”.
- On the controller, press and hold the MODE (1) and DOWN (3) buttons for 3 seconds until the rear hub begins shifting, and then release the button.
- Pedal the bicycle lightly through the entire calibration procedure (preferably on a stand with the rear wheel off the ground), while the system shifts from “low” to “high” ratio multiple times and completes the calibration.
-
Once calibration is successful the controller lights continuously green for 5 seconds.
- In case the calibration is unsuccessful, the controller lights continuously red for 10 seconds. If so, please retry the calibration.
- Calibration shall not take longer than 20 seconds.
B - CLiQ Plus
Tools
- A bicycle with a CLiQ Plus already assembled and paired.
Calibration instructions
- Turn the system power on.
- Select “no motor assist”.
- On the enviolo CA controller (1), press and hold the up and down button simultaneously for 3 seconds until the rear hub begins shifting, and then release the button. While the calibration is active, the LED will flash white.
- Pedal the bicycle lightly through the entire calibration procedure (preferably on a stand with the rear wheel off the ground), while the system shifts from “low” to “high” ratio multiple times and completes the calibration.
-
Once calibration is successful the CA controller lights continuously blue for 5 seconds.
- In case the calibration is unsuccessful the CA controller lights continuously red for 5 seconds. If so, please retry the calibration.
- Calibration shall not take longer than 20 seconds.
C - CLiQ Pure
Tools
- A bicycle with a CLiQ Pure already assembled and paired.
Calibration instructions
- Turn the system power on.
- Select “no motor assist”.
- Pedal the bicycle lightly through the entire calibration process (preferably on a stand with the rear wheel off the ground).
- On the controller (1), press and hold the center button for 3 seconds until the rear hub begins shifting, and then release the button.
-
Continue to pedal lightly through the entire calibration procedure, while the system shifts from “low” to “high” ratio multiple times and completes the calibration.
- Calibration shall not take longer than 20 seconds.
Calibration done
Enjoy the ride! If you followed all the steps the e-bike is ready to go. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to our Support team.
