AHI Configuration

Before you start with the rebuild, please know that you will require the right settings for your bike if you are configuring a new AHI on the bike and don't have any settings yet.

Therefore you have to request the configuration with our support team. To configure the new AHI we will require the following information via this form:

  • enviolo hub type: (City, Trekking, Heavy Duty etc)
  • eBike Drive system (Bosch, Bafang, etc.)
  • Front sprocket size
  • Rear sprocket size
  • Wheel circumference (in mm)

As soon as we have this information we will send you the correct settings via a QR code that you can flash to the interface. You can scan the QR code via the app in settings.

If you are trying to retrofit an AUTOMATiQ unit on your bike, please select which system your bike is currently being equipped with:

Manual:
To retrofit the system you require the AUTOMATiQ hub interface, the hub magnet ring the hub sprocket ring, as well as the wire harness, which you can order here.In addition you require a connection from the drive system power to our connector, e.g. Bosch eShift cable.

We offer a technical description:

Assembly of the wire harness:

When working on a custom solution for the connection to the drive system, please take the following into account:

  • Input power must be between 18-55V
  • Use this open end wire to connect it to your drive system: WIRE-AT3-DS-OE (color coding as shown in the schedule above)

[A] The enviolo AUTOMATiQ systems come with a sprocket magnet ring that must be secured onto the assembled sprocket snap ring. The twelve magnets on the sprocket magnet ring provide pedal cadence for the AUTOMATiQ system.

[B] After installing the sprocket, sprocket spacer (if required), and snap ring, and prior to installing the AUTOMATiQ hub interface, install the sprocket magnet ring over the assembled sprocket snap ring.

Assemble with the magnets facing the sprocket, as shown.

Align the “tooth” on the sprocket magnet ring with the opening of the sprocket snap ring.

Snap and secure the sprocket magnet ring over the assembled sprocket snap ring [B].

[C] AUTOMATiQ systems require a hub magnet ring that must be secured over the internal gear hub, flush with the internal gear hub cover. Six magnets in the hub magnet ring provide the bicycle speed for the AUTOMATiQ system.

[D] Prior to installing the AUTOMATiQ hub interface, assemble the hub magnet ring over the right hand side of the CVP, and secure with the included fastener.

The fastener may need to be unthreaded to allow initial fitment.

Assemble with the larger diameter flange outboard and the fastener inboard, flush with the internal gear hub cover as shown.

Locate the fastener portion between spoke holes and spokes, as shown.

Torque the fastener to 1.0 Nm (9 in-lbs).

Ensure you have both magnet rings installed, otherwise the system will not work properly.

Ensure you have the correct AUTOMATiQ hub Interface for your internal gear hub.

enviolo CT/CO/TR have one axle diameter (44T) and enviolo CA/SP/HD, a different one (40T).

You can find the identification of the AUTOMATiQ Hub Interface variant at the bottom of the hub interface.

Use the uninstalled enviolo hub interface to determine the desired orientation.

Orientation should be forward, parallel to the chain stay with the automatic main connector facing forward. Move the AUTOMATiQ Hub Interface along the dropout to ensure clearance at different axle positions. With the AUTOMATiQ Hub Interface oriented correctly inside the right dropout, the installation angle is the indicated angle of the dropout (20 degrees in this example).

Use a scratch pen or marker to mark the hub interface in the middle of the dropout. Remove the anti-shift retainer, if installed.

Suspend the AUTOMATiQ Hub Interface over the right hand axle, and align the axle flats with the
marked position.

Alternatively, a non-turn washer can be installed over the AUTOMATiQ Hub Interface to align the installation angle.

When the installation angle is aligned seat the AUTOMATiQ Hub Interface fully onto the axle.

Thread the right hand nut, serrations facing outward, onto the axle and tighten it to 10-15 Nm (7-11 ft-lbs).

Make sure the connector on the AHI is unobstructed

Install the rear wheel.

Once assembled the hub interface should not touch the frame.

Connect the wire harness to the AHI and the drive system side. In case you need more information on the wiring, please see an overview here.

How to connect the AHI via the app:

As alternative to the video we also offer a technical description:

Pair_AHI_1.jpg

Screen_1.jpg

With the drive system on, push and hold the indicated button on the AHI for 5 seconds until it starts blinking blue.

Open the enviolo App on your phone or tablet and select the desired device.

The serial # of the hub interface can be found on the bottom of the hub interface.

When having multiple interface in range all will appear on your screen. The interface with the highest number is the closest to you.

When connected the cadence can be adjusted under preferences.

Via the settings tab you are able to adjust the start after stop. This provides the possibility to personalize the ration when taking off from standstill position.

Make sure to flash the correct settings for your bike model. More about the correct configuration can be found at the top of this article.

How to pair the controller:

As alternative to the video we also offer a technical description:
Pair_AHI_1.jpgmceclip0.png

With the drive system on, push and hold the indicated button on the AHI for 5 seconds until it starts blinking blue.

For the CO & CLiQ Pure controller (part of the kit), press and hold the center button for 3 seconds until the LED starts flashing green and red. Once the LED flashes green only the device is paired.

For the CA & CLiQ Plus controller, press and hold the center button for more than 8 seconds. Once the LED lights continuously in blue for 1 second the device is paired.

For the SP & CLiQ Pro controller, press and hold the mode button for 3 seconds. Once the LED lights continuously in green for 5 seconds the device is paired

Calibrate the system:

mceclip0.png

Screen.png

In the configuration menu, scroll down and trigger the calibration by selecting "recalibrate the hub interface"

For the CO & CLiQ Pure controller (part of kit), press and hold the center button for 3 seconds until the rear hub begins shifting (5-7 seconds) and then release the button.

For the CA & CLIQ Plus controller, press and hold up and down buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. While the calibration is active the LED will flash white.

For the SP & CLiQ controller, press and hold mode and down buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. While the calibration is active the LED will flash blue.

After triggering the calibration you have to pedal constantly and lightly for ~20 seconds for all the variants until the system shifts 2-3 times through the full ratio range.

Automatic or Harmony (using a separate controller):
To simplify the retrofit, we have created a kit consisting of the AUTOMATiQ hub interface, the hub magnet ring, as well as the wire harness, which you can order here.

ATTENTION: Should you still have an old system with only one magnet ring on the hub flange, ensure that you also order the sprocket magnet ring.
