If your hub feels like it’s resisting, see below what you can do.
Backward compatibility
This guide is compatible with legacy 135mm solid axle hubs (Commercial/CO, Sportive/SP, Cargo/CA, N360, N380, N380SE), and 148mm modular axle hubs (Sportive/SP, and Cargo/CA).
Problem diagnosis
Inspect the bicycle. Follow this guide if you detect:
- The hub has just been delivered, and it feels like there is resistance caused by the CVP.
- When pedaling, it feels like there’s resistance or drag coming from the hub.
Solution
For a new hub that has just been delivered:
- Please ensure that the chain tension is set properly.
- If the above doesn’t work, it’s likely that the internal bearings are still sealed from manufacturing and need some time to loosen up. Continue pedaling until the break-in period of ~100km.
For a used hub, or after having pedaled ~100km:
- Please ensure that the chain tension is set properly.
- If the problem persists and the hub is within 2 years of age, return the hub using the warranty request form. enviolo hubs are closed containers and need to be sent back for closer inspection.
Done
The bicycle should ride smoothly again, or otherwise, the hub has been sent to the enviolo Service Center for closer inspection.
