See how to set up and use the wireless Enviolo CliQ Pro controller.
Why use a CLiQ controller
With a controller, you can adjust the preferred cadence in automatic mode (recommended) or use simulated gears (1 to 9) in manual mode.
How to pair to the Automatic
Video
Pairing instructions
- Power on your drive system.
- On the Automatic interface, push and hold the white button for ~3 seconds until it starts blinking blue, indicating that the interface is in pairing mode.
- Turn on the controller, and press and hold the power button (C) until it starts blinking a blue LED, indicating that the controller is in pairing mode.
- If the controller doesn't turn on and needs a battery, use a coin and insert a CR1/3N.
- The CliQ Pro should now pair with the Automatic interface.
- When the controller LED goes dark, then it's paired.
- You can also confirm the connection if a white LED shows when pressing up (B) or down (D).
- If the controller LED is still blinking, then it's not connected and still searching for a connection.
Functions
Operation mode
You can change between AUTO and MANUAL shifting via the Enviolo app.
- AUTO – the Enviolo Automatic will intelligently adjust the cadence to the ride. This sets the CliQ controller, or integrated system (e.g. BOSCH), to adjust the preferred cadence.
- MANUAL – the Enviolo Automatic interface will emulate a 9-speed gear hub. This sets the CliQ controller, or integrated system, to change cadence manually by emulating 9 gears.
Download the Enviolo app
- Android 8 or higher - Download from Google Play Store
- iOS 13 or higher - Download from Apple App Store

The Enviolo Automatic works best in AUTO mode
The Enviolo Automatic is an intelligent set-and-forget system – simply set your preferred cadence (pedalling pace), and the interface automatically adjusts to the rider's conditions. When you set the Enviolo Automatic to AUTO mode, you can use the CliQ controller to adjust the preferred cadence.

Calibration
When to calibrate
Enviolo Automatic auto calibration
Auto calibration is the best way to calibrate the Enviolo Automatic – available since firmware version R48 and V10. To update your firmware, see: How to update the Enviolo Automatic with the latest firmware version
Auto calibration keeps the system optimized
If your system is up to date – latest app and firmware – the Enviolo Automatic will passively calibrate while riding. It is the best way to keep your system optimised.
Step-by-step instructions
- Power on your drive system and select no motor assist.
- On the controller, press the power button (C) to take it out of standby mode.
- Press and hold the up (B) and down (D) buttons for 3 seconds until the hub begins shifting, and a red and green light is blinking on the controller. Release the buttons.
- Pedal the e-bike lightly through the entire calibration process (preferably on a stand with the rear wheel off the ground), while the system shifts from full underdrive to full overdrive multiple times and completes the calibration process. This process can take ~12 seconds.
- Once calibration is successful, the controller lights continuously green for 3 seconds.
- If unsuccessful, a red LED lights continuously for 3 seconds. Please retry the calibration.
