This article will explain how to repair a freewheel, either by cleaning or replacing it altogether, on all enviolo hubs.

1 - Disassemble the hub and freewheel

- Small flat screwdriver
Disassembly instructions
- Set the hub in full overdrive, prior to the removal of the hub interface.
- Remove the hub interface.
- Remove the sprocket snap ring.
- Remove the sprocket spacer (if installed).
- Remove the sprocket.
- Remove the snap ring (A) on the shift driver.
- Remove the freewheel body (B).
- Remove the interior snap ring (C).
- Remove the right-hand shield (D).
- Remove the needle bearing (E).
2 - Clean and inspect

- Medium-weight oil
Instructions
Once the freewheel parts have been removed, service the inside:
- Use a medium-weight oil or very lightweight water-resistant grease to clean the interior of the hub, so no metal scraps or dirt is left inside.
- Check the pawl and spring function.
- Reinstall using a medium-weight oil.
3 - Reassemble with the same or new freewheel parts

Now, reassemble with new freewheel parts:
- Replace the plastic washer to cover the bearing seal (for the new freehub body with plastic washer).
- Place a new needle bearing (E).
- Place a new right-hand shield (D).
- Secure with the snap ring.
- Assemble the new freewheel body (B).
- Assemble the snap ring (A) on the shift driver.
Your freewheel is ready
If you successfully follow the steps above, then the freewheel is serviced and repaired. You can now reassemble the sprocket back onto the hub:
