- Cable cutting pliers
- 2mm Allen key
Assembly instructions
- Assemble the cable-end hardware only by pulling cables at the end of the housing. Never rotate the grip with cables unattached, as they can bind inside the barrel adjuster.
- Pass the shift cables through the appropriate cable housing and ensure the housing is seated completely into the shifter.
- Thread both barrel adjusters completely clockwise (in) to provide maximum assembly slack.
- Pull the underdrive shift cable firmly at the rear axle location until it stops, checking to make sure that the shift indicator goes completely flat (Twist Display) or that the grip rotates fully in the counterclockwise direction shown (Twist controllers), viewed from the right side of the bicycle.
- Pass the underdrive shift cable through the underdrive cable stop and secure the underdrive cable stop at 120mm while pulling the cable firmly.
- Ensure that the cable housing is seated fully at the barrel adjuster.Using a 2mm Allen key, secure the cable and torque to 1.5-2.0 Nm.
- Cut the excess cable as short as possible, at a maximum of 2.0mm from the end of the underdrive cable stop.
- Pull the overdrive shift cable firmly at the manual hub interface until it stops, checking to make sure that the shift indicator goes into a steep hill (Twist Display), or that the grip rotates fully in the clockwise direction shown (Twist), viewed from the right side of the bicycle.
- Make sure the underdrive shift cable and underdrive cable stop are free and unobstructed.
- Pass the overdrive shift cable through the overdrive Latch and secure the overdrive latch at 114mm while pulling the cable firmly.
- Ensure that the cable housing is seated fully at the shifter.
- Using a 2mm Allen key, secure the cable and torque to 1.5-2.0 Nm.
- Cut the cable flush with the cable stop fixture and tuck the remaining cable length into the overdrive latch.
- Ensure that the cable housing is seated fully at the controller.
Final step
If you successfully follow all the steps above, the cable length should now be set correctly. You can now connect the cables to the manual hub interface.
