This guide will help you restore the ratio range or top speed on your 148mm modular axle hubs.

Problem diagnosis

Upon inspection, you detect one of the following:

• The hub does not reach the full or correct gearing (ratio range):
  • Urban - 256%
  • City - 310%
  • Trekking - 380%
  • Heavy Duty - 380%
  • Extreme - 380%
  • Utility - 400%
• Top speed doesn’t seem to be reachable at a reasonable cadence.
• The manual hub interface may be incorrectly installed, hence not allowing the full range.

Solution

You will need to perform different checks depending on the transmission system you have:

Enviolo Automatic

1. Update the Enviolo Automatic to latest firmware;

2. Calibrate using the Enviolo Automatic;
   • Detailed instructions
3. On speed pedelecs, make sure the correct primary ratio is selected.

Manual

1. Reset to full overdrive using the MHI;
   • Detailed instructions
2. Ensure the cable slack is correct.
   • Detailed instructions
3. Ensure the cable length is correct.
   • Detailed instructions with the cable-cutting tool
   • Detailed instructions without the cable-cutting tool
4. On speed pedelecs, make sure the correct primary ratio is selected.

If you successfully followed the steps above, then the ratio range should be restored.
