This guide explains how to reset the ratio range of your 135mm solid axle hub to full overdrive, using the manual hub interface (MHI).
Calibrate with AUTOMATiQ
If your bike has an AUTOMATiQ Hub Interface, you can easily correct the ratio range using the calibration feature on the enviolo app.
Ratio ranges
Full overdrive ratio ranges vary from hub to hub. See below the list of all ratio ranges:
- Urban - 256%
- City - 310%
- Trekking - 380%
- Heavy Duty - 380%
- Extreme - 380%
- Extreme Gearbox - 380%
Step-by-step instructions
If a vice is not available
This guide requires using a vice. But if you don't have one, correcting to full overdrive is still possible using the bicycle frame. With the hub on the bicycle frame, tighten only the left-hand no-turn washer and axle nut to allow the rotation of the manual hub interface during the correction.
1 - Disassemble the MHI
Tools
- Small flat screwdriver
- Torque wrench and a 17mm long socket
- Vice
Disassembly instructions
- While installed on the bicycle, shift the hub into overdrive (H) as far as possible.
- Remove the rear wheel from the bike.
- Mount the wheel on a vice, clamping on the left-hand axle flats.
- Remove the 17mm nut (A) that secures the interface.
- Remove the manual hub interface (B).
- Lift carefully from underneath using a small flat screwdriver.

2 - Diagnose the hub
Diagnostic
Inspect the hub (D) and spline (C) markings:
- If the spline nut (C) and shift driver (D) markings are not aligned, the hub will need to be reset to full overdrive.
- If the markings are not visible, please continue to the next step to reset to full overdrive.

Correction instructions
The manual hub interface will be used to shift the hub into full overdrive in the following steps:
- Set the manual hub interface to the full underdrive (L) position.
- Note that this is the opposite of a normal installation.
- Note that this is the opposite of a normal installation.
- Reinstall the manual hub interface.
- Angular position is not important.
- Leave the right-hand nut uninstalled.
- Install the hub into a vice, clamping on the left-hand axle flats.
- If a vice is not available, assemble it in the bicycle frame instead, tightening only the left-hand no-turn washer and axle nut to allow rotation of the manual hub interface.
- While driving the hub clockwise with the sprocket (N), rotate the manual hub interface (M) counter-clockwise toward the full overdrive (H) position until a firm stop is felt.
- Repeat this rotation 2-3 times by driving the hub clockwise with the sprocket and rotating the manual hub interface back and forth.
- When full overdrive is found, remove the manual hub interface positioned in the maximum (H) position.
- Repeat the diagnosis instructions to check if the marking on the spline nut (C) and shift driver (D) are now aligned.
Next guide
If you successfully followed the steps above, then your hub should now have the correct full ratio range. You can now reassemble the MHI back onto the wheel:
