Changes compared to 2023

Our entire hub range now has compatibility with 148mm modular axle frames. All hubs, from URBAN to EXTREME, now have both solid axle and modular axle hub shell versions.

The TREKKING hub has an updated shell. This makes the spoke flanges on both sides for all enviolo hubs symmetrical. The left and right spoke length is always the same for new hubs.

Additionally, a new freewheel has been introduced that tightens the sprocket with a lockring, instead of a snap ring.

What’s in the box?

When you order a hub, for example, the CVP-TR-36-DC-OE-1, you only receive the hub. Some hardware may need to be added.

Hardware

Due to the new mounting, a new lockring is required to secure the sprocket: HW-LCK-RING-OE.

If you want to order a complete hardware kit for the new hub in 135mm drop-out, you can also order this kit: CVP-STDH-LCK-KIT. For the Extreme you need: CVP-STDH-12-LCK-KIT.

A new AUTOMATiQ ISS magnetic ring is also available for the freewheel: AUT-ISS-LCK-OE.

Sprocket

When you order a new hub with the new threaded freewheel, any standard 9-spline chain sprocket will fit in 1/8‘ from 17T - 22T and 3/32’ from 16T - 22T. 

The new freewheel with lockring is not compatible with Gates Surefit VMN sprockets. Gates produces new 9-spline sprockets with the correct belt line spacing, these are labeled ‘E9’. The following versions are available.

Sprocket mounting

All compatible sprockets should be fitted without spacers, to ensure the correct chain line or belt line. The new lockring should be fitted with a tightening torque of 35Nm - 45Nm. Several tools are available in the market for this, the interface size is 41mm with 16 pins. Enviolo has a tool available on the webshop, in addition, the tools below are compatible with the enviolo lockring.

To disassemble a sprocket, use a chain whip compatible with the sprocket size. A belt whip exists for Gates sprockets; Gates Strap Wrench.

Freewheel

The 2 freewheels are also interchangeable. You can fit a CY 2024 hub with a snap ring freewheel from the previous generation. You can also fit a lockring freewheel in a previous-generation hub. Follow these instructions: enviolo freewheel maintenance.
