This article contains an overview of the known Giant error codes, these will show up on the display.

Error codes

0x81

Error type: Calibration.

Issue: Calibration could not be completed. 

Solution: Check if both magnet rings are installed correctly and clean. Verify if continuous pedaling is taking place for 30+ seconds. This can be caused by different reasons.

0x82

Error type: AHI motor overcurrent.

Issue: The current going through the shift motor is outside specifications. Automatically resets after 2 seconds. 

Solution: Lower the forces on the pedal and/or reduce load. 

0x83

Error type: AHI motor stall.

Issue: Maximum torque is applied for more than 500ms without shifting action of the hub. Automatically resets after 2 seconds. 

Solution: Lower the forces on the pedal and/or reduce load. 

0x84

Error type: Motor thermal overload.

Issue: Internal temperature of the hub interface is too high. 

Solution: If the bike is exposed to high temperature, make sure to cool it down. If this doesn’t solve it, replace the hub interface. 

0x85

Error type: Motor encoder.

Issue: Internal motor sensors not working.

Solution: Replace the hub interface.
