See how to assemble the Enviolo Automatic (AutomatiQ) interface on a 135mm solid axle rear wheel.
Backward compatibility
This guide is compatible with legacy Enviolo and NuVinci 135mm solid axle hubs.
Forcing entry with incorrect parts will result in damage
Ensure you have an interface with the correct spline nut for your hub - 40T or 44T. Forcing entry might damage the spline nut of either parts.

Spline nut compatibility
There are 2 variants of the Enviolo Automatic (AutomatiQ) interface with different spline nuts (A) – 40T and 44T. The serial sticker at the bottom identifies if it has 40T or 44T.
Their compatibility with Enviolo hubs depends on the year of the hub. Since 2025, we commmonized all hubs with 40T, but some older hubs have 44T splines:
2025
- Hubs with 40T – All hubs are commonized with 40T.
- Hubs with 44T – Discontinued.
2024 and earlier
-
Hubs with 40T
- 148mm modular axle – All modular hubs.
- 135mm solid axle - Heavy Duty, Extreme, Extreme Gearbox, CA.
-
Hubs with 44T
- 135mm solid axle - Urban, City, Trekking, CO, SP, CA.

Assembly instructions
- Before installation, use the interface to determine the orientation on the frame.
- Orientation should be forward, parallel to the chainstay with the connector facing forward (A).
- Orientation should be forward, parallel to the chainstay with the connector facing forward (A).
- Move the interface along the dropout to ensure clearance at different axle positions (B).
- Use a scratch pen or marker to mark the hub interface in the middle of the dropout.
- Remove the anti-shift retainer if one is installed on the hub.
- The anti-shift retainer comes typically installed on new hubs.
- The anti-shift retainer comes typically installed on new hubs.
- Suspend the Enviolo Automatic interface over the right-hand axle, and align the axle flats with the marked position.
- A no-turn washer can be installed over the Enviolo Automatic interface to align the assembly angle.
- When the assembly angle is aligned, seat the Enviolo Automatic interface fully onto the axle.
- Thread the right-hand nut, serrations facing outward, onto the axle.
- Tighten it to 8-10 Nm.
