If your hub seems to not have the full ratio range or not reach its top speed, see below what you can do.
Legacy compatibility
This guide is compatible with legacy 135mm solid axle hubs (Commercial/CO, Sportive/SP, Cargo/CA, N360, N380, N380SE).
Problem diagnosis
Inspect the hub. Follow this guide if you detect:
- The hub does not reach the full or correct gearing (ratio range):
- Urban - 256%
- City - 310%
- Trekking - 380%
- Heavy Duty - 380%
- Extreme - 380%
- Top speed doesn’t seem to be reachable at a reasonable cadence.
- The manual hub interface may be incorrectly installed, hence not allowing the full range.
Solution
You will need to perform different checks depending on the transmission system you have:
AutomatiQ
Bikes with an AUTOMATiQ hub interface (AHI):
-
Calibrate the AHI using the AUTOMATiQ App
See detailed instructions -
On City and Trekking hubs, ensure the spline nut is well-tightened
See detailed instructions - On speed pedelecs, make sure the correct primary ratio is selected.
Manual
Bikes with a Manual hub interface (MHI):
-
Reset to full overdrive using the MHI.
See detailed instructions -
Ensure the cable slack is correct.
See detailed instructions - Ensure the cable length is correct.
-
On City and Trekking hubs, ensure the spline nut is well-tightened.
See detailed instructions - On speed pedelecs, make sure the correct primary ratio is selected.
Done
If you successfully followed the steps above, then the ratio range should be restored. If the problem persists, contact support.
