Every Enviolo Automatic interface requires configuration settings to function properly. While new bikes typically come with pre-configured interfaces, sometimes you'll need to configure them manually, especially when replacing an interface.
You likely need to configure your interface if:
- The interface light alternates between red and green.
- The app prompts for calibration but fails to complete it.
- The 'info' section in the app shows empty fields or incorrect model information.
Step-by-step instructions
There are 2 possible ways:
- Using a configuration QR code
- Using another serial number
A - Using a configuration QR code
A QR code provides an Enviolo Automatic configuration for any eBike of the same model.
Tools
- A smartphone with the Enviolo Automatic (AutomatiQ) app installed:
- Android 8 or higher - Download from Google Play Store.
- iOS 13 or higher - Download from Apple App Store.
- A configuration QR code:
- Generate one via the Generate QR tool.
Configuration instructions
- Activate Bluetooth on your smartphone.
- Open the Enviolo app on your smartphone.
- Turn on the e-bike drive system.
- On the Devices List panel, tap on your Enviolo Automatic interface.
- If you’re connecting to an Enviolo Automatic interface for the first time, then you need to pair it first.
-
To activate pairing mode, press the white button on the interface (A) for 3 seconds until it starts blinking blue. The Enviolo Automatic will then show in the Devices List. More details on this pairing guide.
- Once you get to the main screen, the Settings panel, tap on Scan QR.
- On the Scan QR panel, press again on Scan QR.
- A brand new Enviolo Automatic interface will require an configuration using the Generate QR tool.
- Make sure to give the App permission to access the camera.
-
Scan the QR Code to upload the configuration.
B - Use another serial number
If you don't have a QR code available, you can use another interface's serial number:
Configuration instructions
- Connect to the interface needing configuration.
- Navigate to "Configuration Lookup" in the app.
- Enter the serial number from another interface of the same model.
- Note: the reference interface doesn't need to be powered on.
- Follow the prompts to complete the configuration.
Verification
After configuration, verify success by checking the 'info' tab in your app. All fields should now display correct information for your bike model. The interface light is constantly blue if connected.
Next steps
The Enviolo Automatic interface is now configured. Now it needs to calibrate for automatic shifting to work.
Auto calibration
Auto calibration is the best way to calibrate the Enviolo Automatic – available since firmware version R48 and V10. To update your firmware, see: How to update the Enviolo Automatic with the latest firmware version
Auto calibration keeps the system optimized
If your system is up to date – latest app and firmware – the Enviolo Automatic will passively calibrate while riding. It is the best way to keep your system optimised.
Manual calibration
Manual calibration of the Enviolo Automatic is only required when using older firmware versions (pre-firmware R48 and V10) and after one of the following:
- After the initial assembly of the e-bike.
- When the automatic hub interface was removed for maintenance reasons.
- When the system does not work properly.
