In this article, we guide assemblers on how to upload (flash) an AHI configuration to the eBikes's automatic hub interface during assembly.
To have an AHI configuration you can use, you will need to have it created by an OEM product manager. An OEM product manager can follow this guide for creating it - How to create an AHI configuration (for OEM product managers).
Once the AHI configuration is available, you can flash it tot the AHI in assembly. There are three methods:
- A - Via the Update box
- B - Via the App's Assembly Mode
- C - Via the App's Scan QR function
Follow the instructions below for your desired method.
Step-by-step instructions
There are three methods of flashing the configuration to the AHI.
A - Via the Update box
The latest and fastest way to flash configuration during assembly is using the Update box, capable of flashing a configuration to 5 AHIs at once.
The Update box is a tool designed to simplify and accelerate the flashing process of AHI configuration and firmware. It's a stand-alone device that doesn't require a connection to the internet. It has a built-in full-day battery that allows for 8 hours of operating time, and it can be used continuously when connected to the external power supply.
Detail instructions on all thing related the Update box, including how to use it, can be found here - How to use the Update box (for assemblers).
B - Via the App's Assembly Mode (login required)
We created a special version of the AUTOMATiQ App called Assembly Mode (assembler login) to improve reliability and enhance speed when uploading using the App. This method does not require a QR code to be downloaded and printed.
However, product managers need to make sure the AHI configuration status is set to "Production" in the backend. Every "Production" AHI configuration that is created or updated is automatically downloaded to smartphones in Assembly Mode.
Follow the steps below for this method.

- iOS 13 or higher - Download from Apple App Store.
Configuration instructions
- As an assembler, open the enviolo smartphone app
- Tap the profile icon in the top-right corner of your screen.
- Log in to Assembly mode using your assembler login credentials.
- Pair and connect to AHI.
-
To activate pairing mode in the AHI, press the white button on the AUTOMATiQ (A) for 3 seconds until it starts blinking blue. The AUTOMATiQ will then show in the Devices List. More details on this pairing guide.

- When in settings, one or more e-bike specific configurations will be displayed. Select the desired AHI configuration and press Flash.
- Remember that for the AHI configuration to show in the list, it will need to be set to "Production" in the backend by an OEM product manager.
- After receiving a success message, the AHI is configured.
C - Via the App's Scan QR function (no login required)
It's possible to flash the configuration to the AHI by scanning a QR code, and without using any login. OEM product managers need to provide this QR code. A product manager who creates an AHI configuration can generate a QR code and hand it over to a production line. It looks like this:
Assemblers can use this QR to flash it to the AHI via the AUTOMATiQ App. The enviolo app supports the reading of old and new QR codes. The following steps can be followed in the App's Standard Mode (no login).
