This guide will walk you through how to manually calibrate the Enviolo AutomatiQ using a CliQ controller, and when the automatic interface has older firmware (R47/V09 and older).
We recommend auto calibration
If your system is up to date, the Enviolo Automatic will passively calibrate while riding. It is the best way to keep your system optimised – see firmware update guide.
Step-by-step instructions
There are 3 different CliQ controllers. Follow the instructions for your model:
A - CliQ Pro
Tools
- A bicycle with a CLiQ Pro already assembled and paired.
Calibration instructions
- Turn the system power on.
- Select “no motor assist”.
- On the controller, press and hold the MODE (1) and DOWN (3) buttons for 3 seconds until the rear hub begins shifting, and then release the button.
- Pedal the bicycle lightly through the entire calibration procedure (preferably on a stand with the rear wheel off the ground), while the system shifts from “low” to “high” ratio multiple times and completes the calibration.
-
Once calibration is successful the controller lights continuously green for 5 seconds.
- In case the calibration is unsuccessful, the controller lights continuously red for 10 seconds. If so, please retry the calibration.
- Calibration shall not take longer than 20 seconds.
B - CliQ Plus
Tools
- A bicycle with a CLiQ Plus already assembled and paired.
Calibration instructions
- Turn the system power on.
- Select “no motor assist”.
- On the enviolo CA controller (1), press and hold the up and down button simultaneously for 3 seconds until the rear hub begins shifting, and then release the button. While the calibration is active, the LED will flash white.

Other calibration options
Automatic
Enviolo Automatic auto calibration
Auto calibration is the best way to calibrate the Enviolo Automatic – available since firmware version R48 and V10. To update your firmware, see: How to update the Enviolo Automatic with the latest firmware version
Auto calibration keeps the system optimized
If your system is up to date – latest app and firmware – the Enviolo Automatic will passively calibrate while riding. It is the best way to keep your system optimised.
Manual
Enviolo Automatic manual calibration
Manual calibration of the Enviolo Automatic is only required when using older firmware versions (pre-firmware R48 and V10) and after one of the following:
- After the initial assembly of the e-bike.
- When the automatic hub interface was removed for maintenance reasons.
- When the system does not work properly.
